SUMMARY:Sunday Series Club Training Race: Grand Island Fireball Full Lap
DESCRIPTION:This event is a Buffalo Bicycling Club race. You must be a member to participate. Membership categories eligible for this: Full\, Rookie\, Junior/College\, Out-of-Town.  Not eligible: Group Ride/Workout or Cyclocross. To join\, click here. \n  \nParking:\nPark at the small parking lot just outside of Beaver Island State Park on West River/West Oakfield Rd.  There is additional parking inside Beaver Island State Park\, Lot 4.  Then meet at the finish line at West River and Ferry Rd. \nCourse:\nClick Here to View the Course Page.  A 15-mile loop around Grand Island followed by 5 laps of a 1.8-mile circuit.  You won’t find it much flatter than this! \nWhat You Should Expect on Race Day:\n\nPlease plan to arrive 30 minutes early to get into your riding clothes and get your bike ready\nWrite down your name on the sign-in sheet when it becomes available\, head out on the bike get a few pedal strokes in the legs to warm up\nAt 10am\, we will be rolling out together for a neutral rollout from the finish line at West River and Ferry to Fisherman’s Landing under the South Grand Island Bridge.  (Remember\, the sign-in is at the finish line!)\nWe’ll start the A\, B\, and C groups in waves to race the amount of race laps noted in the Course Description\nPlease note that the C group is not scored and is purely for instruction.  It’s availability on the day depends on rider turnout and the presence of an experienced rider to lead.  If there is not enough for a C group\, all newer racers will race in the B group.\nAt the end\, make sure you know your finishing place and report it to the event organizer\n\nSunday Series Club Races Individual Scoring:\nThis race is part of the club’s two halves of the season with 4 races each. DESCRIPTION:You must be a member of the Buffalo Bicycling club to participate.   Membership categories eligible for this: Full\, Rookie\, Junior/College\, Out-of-Town\, Group Ride/Workout\, and Cyclocross.  Not eligible: ——–.  To sign up for membership\, click here. \n  \nParking:\nJon and Shannon Siuta’s One O Four Farm: 5052 Ridge Road\, Lockport\, NY 14094.  Arrive about 15-30 minutes early so you can get changed and get your bike ready.  Ready to roll at 10am.  Jon will provide an overview on the day’s expectations and goals. \nDetails:\nOur group workout this week starts from Jon and Shannon Siuta’s One O Four Farm on Rt 104 in Lockport.  We will ride together over to the “S**t Hill” in Lockport and do hill repeats at everyone’s own pace.  This hill is just under 1 mile long at 5% average incline\, an approachable hill for a variety of fitness levels.  When we get to the hill\, everyone will do hill repeats at their own pace\, going up and down\, for about 45 minutes.  Then ride back to the farm together for some treats! \nFor our racing inclined riders\, this is a “VO2 Max” effort hill.  At about 3-6 minutes in duration\, this is a kind of effort that can be taken notably over your FTP or aerobic threshold power\, about 110-120% over your threshold power.  Then recover at the top\, turn around and head down.  Aim for about equal time climbing and recovering for a 1:1 ratio of effort and recovery so you can repeat the effort. \n\nCourse:\nhttps://www.strava.com/routes/3478819147624194486  \n  \nGroups: \n\n\n\n\nAll Groups\n\n\n\n\nDistance\n18 miles\n\n\n\n\nPace\n17-18mph on flats to and from the hill.  Your own pace on the hill

DESCRIPTION:Click the link here to sign up on Zwift Companion for Sunday 11/16\nJoin the Buffalo Bicycling Club on Zwift for a 2 hour ride.  This is a social group ride\, so please stick to the pace and please stick with the ride leader. Since this is a collaborative ride\, if the advertised pace doesn’t work for you\, feel free to adjust your weight in Zwift accordingly before the ride starts so you can ride along! \nThis week’s workout:\n\n2 hour ride at 2.5 w/kg pace steady ride with the yellow beacon ride leader.\nThe second hour will feature optional sprints at each green sprint banner\, with the leadout called by the ride leader.  3-2-1 points for the top 3 across the line (not the timed leaderboard) towards the day’s tally.\n\n  \nNew to Zwift?  Here’s what you need: \n\nA bike set up on a smart trainer\, or a regular stationary trainer with a power meter or at least a speed/cadence sensor\nA membership to Zwift\nThe Zwift app on your smart device or computer so you can ride on the platform\nThe Zwift Companion App on your smartphone or smart device so you can browse group events and join the club.\nJoin the Buffalo Bicycling Club on the Zwift Companion App by selecting “Clubs” –> “All Clubs” –> type in “Buffalo Bicycling Club”\nClick the Plus on this week’s event to say you’re going (without joining the club on Zwift and marking that you’re going to this week’s ride\, Zwift won’t send you to the right place)\nGet on Zwift 10 minutes early to enter into the event starting pit so you’re ready to take off at 9am sharp!  Make sure you have your food and water with you because Zwift rides don’t take breaks!\n\n7a) Using Zwift rules\, you can late join up to 30 minutes after the ride starts\, and you can use the “Coffee Break” feature to take up to a 3-minute break during the ride
