SUMMARY:Group Workout: Blackman Hill Repeats from the One O Four Farm
DESCRIPTION:You must be a member of the Buffalo Bicycling club to participate.   Membership categories eligible for this: Full\, Rookie\, Junior/College\, Out-of-Town\, Group Ride/Workout\, and Cyclocross.  Not eligible: ——–.  To sign up for membership\, click here. \n  \nParking:\nJon and Shannon Siuta’s One O Four Farm: 5052 Ridge Road\, Lockport\, NY 14094.  Arrive 15 minutes early so you can get changed and get your bike ready.  Ready to roll at 10am.  Jon will provide an overview on the day’s expectations and goals. \nDetails:\nOur group workout this week starts from Jon and Shannon Siuta’s One O Four Farm on Rt 104 in Lockport.  We will ride together over to Blackman Hill (Apple Hill) in Lockport and do hill repeats at everyone’s own pace.  The steep part of the hill is 0.25 mile long at 10% average incline\, a sprint hill from the bottom.  Or you can continue the full segment to the stop sign to practice your anaerobic capacity on the hill and then holding it over the crest to simulate keeping up with the pack or attacking!.  When we get to the hill\, everyone will do hill repeats at their own pace\, going up and down\, for about 45 minutes.  Then ride back to the farm together for some treats! \nFor our racing inclined riders\, this is an anaerobic effort hill.  At about 1-2 minutes in duration\, this is a kind of effort that can be taken notably over your FTP or aerobic threshold power\, about 130% or more over your threshold power.  You can mix up your intervals by doing only the hill (1-2 minutes) or continue to the stop sign to simulate attacking over the crest and holding it (2-4 minutes).  Then recover at the top\, turn around and head down.  Aim for about equal time climbing and recovering for a 1:1 ratio of effort and recovery if doing the full segment\, or about 1:2 climbing and recovering if only doing the short hill sprint. \n\nCourse:\nhttps://www.strava.com/routes/3486728815629614150\n  \nGroups: \n\n\n\n\nAll Groups\n\n\n\n\nDistance\n19 miles\n\n\n\n\nPace\n17-18mph on flats to and from the hill.  Your own pace on the hill

SUMMARY:Buffalo Triathlon Club Thursday Time Trial
DESCRIPTION:The Buffalo Triathlon Club is inviting the Buffalo Bicycling Club to their Thursday Night Time Trial!\nYou must be a member of the Buffalo Bicycling Club (or Buffalo Triathlon Club) to participate in this event.  Membership categories eligible for this: Full\, Rookie\, Junior/College\, Out-of-Town\, Group Ride/Workout\, Cyclocross.  Not eligible: ——-. To join\, click here. \nPlease note that this event does not count towards your Buffalo Bicycling Club points standings\, but come out and meet people from the BTC and ride your TT or road bike fast! \nFor full details on the BTC website\, click here! \nParking and What to Expect on Race Day:\nThis season bricks and time trials will take place at the North Amherst Fire Company & Park\, located at the corner of Tonawanda Creek Road (South) and Campbell Blvd (rte 270). The address is 2200 Tonawanda Creek\, Amherst NY 14228. \nOn-site sign-in\, number assignment\, and transition area set-up takes place between 5:45pm – 6:25pm.  The timed brick events start promptly at 6:30pm.  It is crucial that we start on time to ensure that we finish before dusk.  If you arrive late\, there is a good chance that you will still be able to do the timed event; however you will have to wait until after everyone else has started so that the volunteers can check you in and get you started\, without delaying the start of everyone else.  There will be official time keepers at these events\, and the results will be posted afterwards.  The time keepers will also keep an eye on everything in the transition area.  Members are also welcomed to participate in the workouts even if they do not want to be timed and do not want to have their results recorded and posted. \nThe Northtown bricks and time trials take place at the North Amherst Fire Company & Park\, located at the corner of Tonawanda Creek Road (South) and Campbell Blvd (rte 270).  The exact address is 2200 Tonawanda Creek\, Amherst NY 14228.  It is crucial that you park on the West side of the fire hall\, and not the East side (where the baseball diamond is)\, because the ambulance exists from the East side.  The fire hall is a prime location for the brick workouts because there is ample parking\, decent roads to bike on\, and a very nice paved running path.  The terrain is very flat. Use the interactive map below to familiarize yourself with the location\, bike\, and run courses. \nCourse:\nThe BTC uses 2 laps of a 6.25-mile course to make the full 12.5 miles (20km) covering Tonawanda Creek and North Tonawanda Creek Roads
