SUMMARY:BBC Group Ride- Grand Island Fireball
DESCRIPTION:You must be a member of the Buffalo Bicycling club to participate.  To sign up for membership\, click here. \nJoin us for a BBC-led group ride to preview the Grand Island Fireball course that we’ll be racing on next week! \nStart and Parking: \nPark inside Beaver Island State Park\, Lot 4.  It is the first right upon entering the park as you head to the maintenance building.  Lot 4 is on the right next to the bathrooms. \nCourse:\nClick Here to View the Course Page.   A 15-mile loop around Grand Island followed by 5 laps of a 1.8-mile circuit.  You won’t find it much flatter than this! This is a cooperative ride composed of an A\, B\, and C group\, with a designated sweeper for the C group.  Start with one group and drop back to the next group as needed since we’ll all be on the same course!  Stick with our ride leaders and sweepers for the amount of laps below. \nGroups:\n\n\n\n\nA Group\nB Group\nC Group\n\n\nDistance\n1 lap (25mi)\n 1 lap (25mi)\n1 lap (25mi)\n\n\nPace\n18-20mph\n16-18mph\n14-16mph\n\n\n\nWhat You Should Expect on Ride Day:\n\nPlease plan to arrive early to get into your riding clothes and get your bike ready.  You need a working road bike\, helmet\, and shoes.\nCheck in with a BBC officer at the parking lot\nDetermine which group you’ll ride with.  Your ride group is the same category as you would participate in for our club races.  Newer riders start in the B/C fields.  If you are a faster novice rider and can safely and comfortably ride in the A group\, please ask a BBC officer for guidance.\nAt 10am\, we will be rolling out together for a neutral rollout from Beaver Island to Fisherman’s Landing under the South Grand Island Bridge.  (Remember\, the sign-in is at Beaver Island!)

SUMMARY:Criterium Skills Clinic at the Shipyard
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a freshening up on criterium racing specific skills!  In a criterium race\, like the Buffalo Ohio St Criterium at Resurgence Brewing Company this coming Sunday May 21st\, it’s important to know how to corner quickly and safely\, and how to ride closely in the group. \nMeeting place: \nMeet at the parking lot on Ship Canal Pkwy south of Tifft St in South Buffalo\, ready to ride at 6pm.\n  \nThe key points of this clinic will include: \n\nrace format\nriding in the drops and controlling your bike\ncornering\nsprinting\nwhat do you if you come in contact with someone else’s bike\n\nWe’ll end the clinic with a mock race!  Note that the roads at the shipyard are open to traffic (mostly industrial trucks) although traffic is fairly light\, so please exercise caution during the clinic. \nBring lights if you are riding to and from the clinic.  Dusk sets in around 8pm
