SUMMARY:BBC’s Remembrance Ride for John Embow
DESCRIPTION:In August 2023\, the BBC lost an amazing human being in John Embow.  He was 51 years old. John had an infectious smile and laugh\, had boundless energy and curiosity\, and made instant friends with everyone he met. Everyone who has ever ridden with him has fond memories of the endless conversation and likely a bit of suffering on his wheel. Outside of cycling\, he was involved in a lot of community pursuits\, donating time and money to several causes\, and his company\, Grove Roofing Services\, was a sponsor of the BBC this year to help our own initiatives of event safety\, increasing women’s participation\, and building rider skills. \nWe’ll ride together in his memory. \nParking:\nJon Siuta’s Farm on Rt 104:  5052 Ridge Rd\, Lockport\, NY  14094 \nCourse:\nClick here for course details.  A 30-mile flat loop from the One Oh Four Farm up to Lake Ontario and back. \nGroups:\n\n\n\n\nA Group\nB Group\nC Group\n\n\nDistance\n30 miles\n30 miles\n30 miles\n\n\nPace\n18-20mph\n16-18mph\n14-16mph\n\n\n\nWhat You Should Expect on Ride Day:\n\nPlease plan to arrive early to get into your riding clothes and get your bike ready.  You need a working road bike\, helmet\, and shoes.\nCheck in with a BBC officer at the parking lot and determine which group you’ll ride with\nAt 10am\, we will be rolling out together and onto the course for the distances above.\n\n
