April Meeting Minutes

March Meeting Minutes
March 27, 2026

Time and Date: Tuesday April 28th at 8pm on Zoom

Attendance: James Thompson, Erin Haskell, Rich Scaduto, Tory Trzyna, Drew Scott, Frank Grillo

Agenda Items:

  • Club VP Position
    • Tim Williams announced in April that he is stepping down as club VP.  We are very thankful for Tim’s more than 15-year tenure as the club VP, overseeing the club’s development through the years and being an integral part of where we are today.  He will still remain our chief official for our USAC races.
    • We will leave the position open for now and discuss the role with potential club members during the season to have someone new in the role in the fall.
  • Marilla Club Race
    • People who live in Marilla reached out on Facebook this month that the bridge at 4 Rod Road is out for the whole season while being replaced.  We will need to reroute our course.  The board voted to shift back to the standard Marilla course, with the start/finish at the parking lot at Eastwood Rd.  Details are on the event website.
  • Plan2Peak Skills Clinic
    • We are finalizing details for the sanctioned skills clinic hosted by club sponsor Plan2Peak’s Coach Peter Cummings.  We will do Saturday June 6th, with the Bikereg registration page going up soon.  It will be a two-part clinic, with registrants completing classroom videos and quizzes at home prior to the skills clinic day
  • Buffalo Triathlon Club Partnership
    • already announced by email, the BTC president reached out to collaborate with us on some Thursday night events.  Our members will be able to do the BTC Thursday Night Time Trial on May 7th and September 3rd.  BTC members will join us for our two club time trials on May 28th and July 2nd.  The BTC events are on the website event calendar
  • Storage Area Rental
    • The BBC and EARC are jointly renting a storage unit and trailer parking space at a storage facility on Grand Island.  This will help keep race-day supplies better organized and the trailer closer to the officers.  The trailer will be brought up from VP Tim’s farm.
    • Reviewed the need to resupply our race-day med kit for the trailer.  Tory will make a list of things we need to have on hand as we hit sanctioned race season
  • USAC Race needs
    • We are looking for someone to perform on-site race director duties for Freedom Run.  James will be available for the early part of the day to get security/police and venue set up but is then racing in the second wave.  This person would do podiums, be an emergency contact for police/security, answer racer questions, and keep the proceedings running smoothly.  James will provide a list of things this role needs to do.  If you are racing the first races (Cat 4/5) and can do this during the second wave, it would be even better!
  • Recap of first two club events
    • Fireball skills workshop by Alison and Drew was fantastic!  We had 18 riders at the Thursday skills workshop
    • B race in both the Thursday and Sunday races were safe and well controlled.  New racers were given support by A riders in both events
    • Sponsorship needs coming up
      • We will need to design a club championship jersey through Jakroo to be ready by the end of the month’s club championship events
      • We will reuse our 2025 podium sponsor banner and adjust the graphics of a couple secondary sponsors
      • All club jerseys for our sponsors that will go in their storefront windows were ordered with the bulk pricing order, all of which are set to arrive in mid-May.
