This race is a revival of the BBC vs GVCC Club vs Club Race!  We plan on hosting friendly inter-club competition on a course that’s great for the all-around rider!  This is a special race because BBC member will be on one team, and every GVCC member will be on another team.  Regardless of regular team affiliation or usual club racing dynamics, for this race, we all work together to get the better of our collective competition in the GVCC.

This year, the GVCC will be hosting it in Rochester on their GVCC Mumford club race course.   It’s a rolling course with an uphill sprint finish!  It’s not too far away from the Buffalo area, right off the first Rochester Exit 47 off the I-90.

Click Here to View the Course Page.  A5.6 loop on low-traffic roads with an uphill finish, great for an all-rounder rider!  The Cat 1/2/3 and 50+ group is doing __ laps/__ miles, and the Cat 4/5 group is doing __ laps/__ miles.

What You Should Expect on Race Day:

1. Please plan to arrive 30 minutes early to get into your riding clothes and get your bike ready
2. Write down your name on the sign-in sheet when it becomes available, head out on the bike get a few pedal strokes in the legs to warm up.  Even though it’s a club race, be prepared to pin on a number to help out our scorers.
3. At 10am, we’ll roll out from the parking lot to the start line and start the 1/2/3, 4/5, and Master’s groups in waves to race the amount of race laps noted in the Course Description
4. Check with our event scorers after the race as we get the final tally

Scoring:

This race is different from most because the only score that matters is your club’s total score!  Everyone who is a member of the BBC is on one team and everyone from GVCC is on the other team (regardless of regular team affiliations).  The winner of the BBC vs GVCC Club vs Club race is the club that scores the most cumulative points across the Cat 1/2/3, Cat 4/5, and Master’s 50+ events, not the individual winners of the races.
