FALL NEWSLETTER

2020 has been unpredictable to say the least. While there was certainly plenty of disappointed, cycling has been one of the few socially acceptable activities of 2020. With that extra time on the bike, it has also provided us a chance to look inward, self reflect, and work on the art of acceptance. 

This year, our club members were creative; finding new ways to support and encourage each other throughout the season.  Via events like the Empire State eRacing Series and Strava Spring Solo Challenge.  As the season progressed, group rides and some club races were able to be held with extra safety precautions in place. 

Unfortunately, we will not be having a club Banquet this year.  However, we will be having an October monthly club meeting on  Monday Oct 26, 2020 7pm on Zoom (details and agenda below).  The primarily purpose is to nominate officers for next year per the club constitution:  

ARTICLE V: OFFICERS and COMMITTEES

A. The BBC membership shall elect officers from all those nominated by both the board of directors and the membership at large. Officers shall be nominated at the October meeting and elected by a majority vote held in November and term shall be for one year, starting January lst. If all nominated Officers are unopposed at the October meeting, membership may motion an immediate election by majority vote and the term shall begin one month early, on December 1st.

B. Race and other Committees are to consist of any full or associate member and/or any responsible non-member of the club appointed by the elected officials.

C. All standing committees will report on their actions at each regularly scheduled meeting.

NOMINATIONS:  For reelection, Steven M. – President, Tim W. – VP, James T. – Treasurer have been nominated. Marit O. has announced her retirement from the Secretary position so there is currently an opening.
