Our 2021 race season is ending this Saturday at the Corfu Quarry. This is a new course that is flat and expected to delivery an exciting conclusion to the BBC Series. In the “A” and “B” fields, James Thompson and Greg Sipes have secured the win in their respected fields. However, in both fields, there is still a tight race for the final podium positions. The “C” field remains wide open. Anyone in the top 10 could find themselves on the overall podium with a good result and some luck this Saturday.
Although racing will be done, it does not mean the fun is over. We have a fall fondo, group rides, and the club banquet on the calendar. The annual club Banquet and group ride is scheduled for Saturday, Oct 2nd, 2021 at 11:00am. We will be meeting at Tim Williams farm. Tim has been the VP of the BBC and a USAC official for over a decade and has been kind enough to host the banquet. This casual no drop group ride will begin at 11:00am. Post ride, there will be a cookout and award ceremony to celebrate another successful year of bicycle racing in Buffalo.
At the banquet, we will have our annal series awards being presented. We also have peer selected awards, and we need your help in nominating club members. The three awards are:
Please email your nominates to [email protected] and [email protected] with a brief description of why you’re nominating them. Nominations are due by Friday 9/17/21. A membership voting survey will be emailed the following week.
The banquet will also serve as the club’s October monthly meeting. If you would like to run for an officer or director position of the club in 2022, you will need to notify membership at this meeting. More details on the banquet itinerary can be found here.
