• Mentorship Program
  • Mostly tabled for January when more members are present for discussion. New idea presented that the mentorship could be moved from the 1-on-1 format to more of a team/group format where teams take on multiple mentees each to guide them through their first year.  That way it is less contingent on the 1-on-1 relationship working between one mentor and one mentee.
•  NFBC
  • James discussed summary of in-person meeting with NFBC President Bradshaw Hovey. Meeting resulted in the BBC and NFBC collaborating on group rides in 2024—cohosting the Wednesday night NFBC ride from Chestnut Ridge and BBC Sunday group rides.  Partnership will result in increased communication between members of the different clubs and crossover of members who want to do group rides and racing.
• January Base Building Challenge
  • Agreed same format as the last few years. Will roll out by January.  Track your training hours during the month, and at the end of the month, there will be gift card raffles for hitting different thresholds, plus the top hour getters for men and women.
• USAC Calendar
  • We will submit our final calendar to NYSBRA with no changes from 2023— Marilla RR 4/28, Resurgence Criterium 5/19, Hamburg RR 6/16, and Freedom Run 7/7.
• Thursday night Fireball with Shickluna
  • Worked out a tentative schedule for Thursdays starting in Late April through mid-August, took out Thursdays that are right before USAC races. Will come up with a final number of Thursday Fireball training races.  These will be criterium format on the Fireball Circuit.  B Race 30 minutes/equivalent # of laps, A race 45 minutes/equivalent number of laps.  Need marshals each week.  Finish line will likely be moved back to the Ferry Rd crosswalk for better visibility.  The off-weeks where there is not a scored Thursday Fireball will be the traditional alley-cat format and not scored.  The goal is the development of rider skills and racing craft.  The scoring will be its own series separate from the BBC Sunday Series.  We also looked at potential ways to get new riders into racing through this event.
• Club Calendar
  • Will work on 2024 Sunday calendar of group rides and Sunday Series Club Races. We are looking at adding in an early-season Thursday TT in addition to the August Thursday TT.  Adding in Corfu to the Sunday Series rotation, likely 9-10 club races.
  • Will revamp the group rides in conjunction with the NFBC collaboration so our group rides are not necessarily race course specific but can incorporate a lap of a race course within a larger ride. NFBC members will be attending our Sunday group rides.
